Denver Goes 3 to 2! Next Game, Decisive!
Denver Nuggets secure their fifth consecutive victory at the Ball Arena after a 118-102 win over Phoenix Suns in game 5 of the playoffs. The Nuggets lead the Western Conference finals with a 3-2 score, while the Suns face elimination in the next game. Although the first half of the game saw Denver lead 35-24, Phoenix closed the gap to just three points with a score of 52-49 at halftime. But the Nuggets rallied in the third quarter, where they outscored the Suns 39-25 to take control of the game.
Nikola Jokic was once again the star of the show, scoring 29 points, with 13 rebounds and 12 assists, and shooting an impressive 12/20 from the field. Jokic’s performance overshadowed the combined 54 points of Phoenix’s top scorers, Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, who scored 28 and 26 points respectively, accounting for more than half of the Suns’ total points. However, Chris Paul was still absent from the Suns’ lineup.
Game 6 will take place at the Footprint Center, and the Suns will have to win to avoid an early exit from the playoffs. A loss would mean the end of their title dreams, while the Nuggets will have two chances to reach the Western Conference final. If the series goes to a game 7, the teams will return to the Ball Arena in Denver.
