After a thrilling victory over the Phoenix Suns in game 6, the Denver Nuggets advanced to the Western Conference finals. The Nuggets won by a score of 125-100, led by Nikola Jokic’s triple double of 32 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds. With a score of 81-51 at the end of the first half, they won the game by a margin of +30. Jokic also performed admirably, making 6/6 free throws and going 13/18 from the field.
Caldwell-Pope scored 21 points, Brown added 13, and Jamal Murray added 26. Porter contributed a strong effort as well, scoring 10 points.
With the victory, the Nuggets have eliminated the super team of the Suns, which included Devin Booker, Kevin Durant, and Chris Paul (who was not present for the final playoff game).
In the important game, Booker only managed to score 12 points on 4 of 13 field goal attempts, while Durant scored 23 points on 8 of 19 shot attempts. Payne led the Suns in scoring with 31 points on 75% of his team’s final 12/16 shots.
As a result, another super team was unable to advance in the postseason, and Denver is now waiting to learn who their opponent in the Finals will be. With the series currently 3-2 in favor of the yellow and navy, it will either be the Lakers or the Warriors.
