With a hard-fought 108-103 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers, the Denver Nuggets jumped to a commanding 2-0 lead in the NBA Finals, leaving the defending champions with the daunting task of winning back-to-back games. The Nuggets won with a stunning comeback, outscoring the Lakers 32-24 in the final 12 minutes of the game.

The first quarter was a close contest that ended in a tie with both teams scoring 27 points. However, by halftime, the Nuggets had gained a slight advantage, leading by five points with a score of 53-48. The decisive moment came in the second half, specifically during the crucial 60-50 stretch, where the dynamic duo of Jamal Murray and Nikola Jokic once again shone. Murray scored 37 points, including a game-high 23 in the fourth quarter alone. He also had 10 rebounds, six three-pointers, and a 9-of-10 shooting percentage from beyond the arc. Jokic, the regular-season MVP, had his usual triple-double performance with 23 points, 17 rebounds, and 12 assists, despite shooting under 50% from the field (9-of-21).

The Lakers’ response was led primarily by LeBron James, who finished with 22 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds, falling just short of a triple-double. In addition, Rui Hachimura scored 21 points, Anthony Davis had 18 points and 14 rebounds, and D’Angelo Russell scored 10 points for the Lakers. Meanwhile, Denver was led by Michael Porter Jr. with 16 points, Jae’Sean Brown with 12 points, and Aaron Gordon with 10 points.

At this point, the Nuggets are in a good position, as they head to Los Angeles with a 2-0 lead and the knowledge that a win on the Lakers’ home court would significantly tip the series in their favor. The Lakers, on the other hand, will have no choice but to recover. To level the series and restore balance to the Western Conference finals, they must win both Game 3 (scheduled for the night between Saturday and Sunday) and Game 4 at the Crypto.com Arena.
